Dantewada happened yesterday. It prompted Union Home Minister to say " The war has been thrust upon us".
From here in Raipur(Chhatisgarh), it seemed like it was waiting to happen for years and for decades together. And I am not talking about the operational failures of CRPF but the political failures of successive governments to deliver the promise of India to the jungles of Bastar pushing the tribals in abject povery.
However, it's no time for such analysis, as the battlelines are drawn and the guns are pointed. Massive force at an unprecedented scale is deployed at the heart of country against our own poeple. For the first time since independence unmanned aircrafts shall be used against India's own citizens. We are becoming a Pakistan -- a state we love to abhor, by authorizing use of such aerial strikes.
अब रण होगा, जीवन-जय या कि मरण होगा।
रण ऐसा होगा , फिर कभी नहीं जैसा होगा।
भाई पर भाई टूटेंगे, विष-बाण बूँद-से छूटेंगे,
फण शेषनाग का डोलेगा, विकराल काल मुँह खोलेगा।

I am caught in a situation where I cannot renounce my own government as it would tantamount to dishonouring the supreme sacrifice of CRPF jawans. While at the same time I cannot stand by the government for its criminal neglegance of Bastars for years together.
I feel like Karna in Mahabharat..

Brutal killings of CRPF men by Maoist insurgents who claim they fight for rural poor cannot be justifiable. The reason behind guerilla war can be superficial. Who is supporting this Guerrilla warfare (External forces China, Pakistan), posing internal and external security threats to our country. From where naxalites receive state of art arms and ammunition including Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), pressure bombs, machine guns, automatic weapons and large quantities of explosives, capable of killing 83 people ? 26/11 Terrorist attacks and Brutal killings of CRPF personnel both are equally inhuman for me.
So far Indian Govt has not taken much concrete action against Pakistan for 26/11. I'm worried, again after a year we will just remember for Chhatisgarh massacre without any strong actions against naxalites. There are many opportunities for improvement in our Intelligence, state of art arms and ammunition for police force and emergency medical evacuation plans for such encounter situations.
It questions me also... Are we society / Nation who has written 'Death Wish!!' 76 CRPF Jawans - 187 Mumbaikars- Ombale- Kamate - Karakare - And hundreds of soldiers in Kashmir and North East died just due to these kind of Negligence...

in MAHABHARAT arjun was fighting as it was his KARMA.his argument was with the injustice brought by the kauravs..he was also inspired by GOD himself to perform his duty without any doubt but today's war will only render everyone of us in the state where we will not be able to forgive ourselves..a problem which is prevalent since decades cannot be solved with guns and air strikes in some days or months..

First of all - As I said I am a reluctant supporter of the government action as one can't preach when battlelines are drawn.
So far as sources of arms of maoists are concerned, I will break-it up into funding and arms supply part.
Funding - They have a parallel levy of tax. Different political parties use Maoists to their advantage covertly or overtly in elections e.g. Congress in Andhra or Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal. This is one of the predominent source of funding apart from looting and abductions Maoists carry-out.
Arms supply - Money is more difficult to get that arms. The understanding of intellegence officials and even P. Chidambaram is that no government agency (ISI / Chinese intelegence etc.) is involved. They get arms through market procurements and at times by looting CRPF's own armouries.
I can't imagine the horrible consequences had the ISI been involved with a 20,000 strong gurilla force at heart of the country. Thank-fully, the maoists have so far stood by the principle of not attacking unarmed common man.
Again as the battle lines are drawn, I have to stand by my government.
First and foremost my sincere tributes to the 83 jawans who are my fellow country men, they laid their lives for this country in a brutal massacre..but they are small pawns in this battle who don't have a say but to go for sacrifice for those 38 lac Rupees..
Abhi has tried to put-forth a point I would like to extend that the Adivasis (mool nivasi) from Bastar dandakaranya and all the area which is highly forested and rich in minerals/resources are probably fighting their last battle for the existence and survival. Probably they are fighting it out on the behalf of nature and environment as well, they are the last front between the resource sucking multinationals and mining magnets.These clever ba..dont have to fight this war as they have something called state machinery which they can easily use by creating situations like this,one has to note the sophisticated weapons used by the guerrillas are also manufactured by these guys..and now state has no option to call an allout attack on our own brothers truly this is the Mahabharat but the winners are going to be those clevers no matter how strong Kauravas and Pandavas are here.Once we call it yudh weak side will seek help from any corner and other countries will play a role as per their benefits.Same thing has happened in the past on eastern and western ghats from British period and more recently in Andhra and karnataka what YSR did and what Ballary Reddy's are doing...in a Yudha like this one has to take side of the state even we know Pandavas are fighting a noble cause.....
